About 1 week(s) ago by Christine Hopkins "GalvTravelGirl"
Mardi Gras Parade on Seawall
Enjoying Mardi Gras! Galveston is definitely a Texas “must do.” This year, the first weekend of Mardi Gras is Feb. 17 – 19. Some may consider the first weekend of Mardi Gras in Galveston a bit tamer but both weekends are fun depending on where you want to be for the parades.

Quick Tips:
#1 – Book your room early (see hotel packages below)
#2 – Check the parade schedule, pick your spot and get there plenty in time (see schedule below)
#3 – If you are a hotel guest, take advantage of the courtesy shuttle to the Uptown Entertainment District
#4 – Buy tickets to a balcony party – it really is the fantastic way to enjoy Mardi Gras outside of the crowds
#5 - Make your reservation for Mardi Gras Brunch at Hotel Galvez; it’s the best way to complete the weekend
