As the fall season kicks off there is no denying that even in Galveston you start to see harvest décor. Pumpkins begin to appear in windows and everyone knows that the last three months of the year have arrived complete with changes in temperature, a lightening of spirits and festive times to be had. It’s time to celebrate and in Galveston what better way that with a fine craft beer from one of the local favorites.

Galveston Island Brewery: From Tiki Wheat to Nightfall this homegrown brewery has been shaking it up both on and off the island. (Find their brews on tap at the Tremont House and Hotel Galvez every day) Free tours are held every Saturday at 1pm, and the tap room is a great place to wind down with a pint. Bring the kids to play on the playground and the whole family can enjoy a fun afternoon together.
Don’t forget that October 17th is Octoberfest all day at the Brewery!!! Check out the web site at: http://www.galvestonislandbrewing.com

Stuttgarden Tavern on the Strand: This indoor-outdoor venue plays host to a variety of fun happenings and has really grown to be an island favorite since it’s opening in 2014. Watch your favorite sport, play trivia, life size Jenga and enjoy the amazing “bier garten” atmosphere. Taps are a plenty and the team is really well stocked on the fall favorites with a variety of yummy pumpkin beers to get you in the spirit.
Try the Traveler’s Pumpkin Ale, yum, yum, yum!!! Almost every Friday and Saturday in October is Stuttgarden Octoberfest with live bands, homemade brats and some of the coolest steins available in town!! http://www.stuttgardentavern.com/

Brew’s Brothers: Brew’s, Galveston’s first craft beer venue, holds its spot as the leader of the pack. (Hint, never trust the tap handle they really do change that often, but the beer tenders are masters of helping you find the right brew for you) Located on the Strand it is just a hop skip and jump from the Tremont House and a great way to enjoy a getaway. Stop in for pint night, Trivia, and the biggest soccer screen in town.
Beer is only the beginning; the food will truly change your world!!! (51/50 Mission from God Burger, just do it!!) https://www.facebook.com/BrewsBrothersGalveston

Beerfoot: Located on the Seawall, Yaga’s has scored another hit! Offering a wide selection of local Texas and Houston beers, Beerfoot has taken it one step further and works with local brewers to brew a unique blend every month and release new home brews weekly. This is a great place to watch the waves with your friends and don’t forget that they offer flights and bites once a month a delicious pairing of brews and food. http://www.yagaspresents.com/beerfoot
