Our Favorite Galveston Boutiques on The Strand and Why

About 1 year(s) ago by Christine Hopkins "GalvTravelGirl"
Head to Footsies Boutique on Strand
You don’t have to be in a big city to enjoy the personalized service of what you’d experience in a high-end boutique or department store. You’ll find Downtown Galveston is home to several great options on Strand Street that offer the personalized service and the brands you love.
Tina’s on The Strand, 2326 Strand, has been in business for more than ten years. In addition to a wide selection of clothing you’ll find a variety of gift items including Lady Primrose Deluxe Spa Products. Our favorite brands include Johnny Was embroidered tops, Fridaze (wrinkle resistant linen), and Simon Sebbag sterling silver jewelry. Fashion Tip: FDJ French Dressing Jeans are truly figure flattering. They also carry Brighton jewelry.
Head to Footsies, 2211 Strand, gives a broad range of sizes including juniors, misses and plus sizes. This favorite boutique carries more than 40 clothing brands and ten brands of shoes, boots and sandals. They offer an amazing selection of tops, dresses, pants, jeans, leggings and swimwear along with cocktail wear for those special occasions. If you are a fan of Corkys, Nicole, Blowfish, and Pierre Dumas shoes this is your place. Keep an eye out for their weekly fashion shows on Facebook.
Emboldened Boutique, 2211 Strand, is one of Galveston’s newest boutiques. This is probably the only place you’ll find Lucky Brand downtown. Plus, look for the timeless style of American designer Susana Monaco whose clothes are created and made in the US and a favorite choice of celebrities. We are also fans of Ivy Jane, Uncle Frank and Cousin Earl clothing lines designed by Frances Lynn Malik. And, check out their Virgins, Saints and Angels jewelry which are handcrafted in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Relax LifeWear, 2418 Strand Suite C, focuses on athleisure wear, active wear and island casual attire. Here you’ll find such brands as Patagonia, Prana, and Howler Brothers clothing as well as fun items such as Sea Bags made from recycled sails from sail boats. You’ll also see Keen, Oofos, Chacos, Saucony and Brooks shoes. Tip: If you forgot your yoga mat or tights they have you covered. By the way, I have three pairs of Oofos and they are amazingly comfortable.
You might also be interested in the new Skinsational Makeup Bar, 2301 Strand. All their products are natural and preservative free. The color selections are great and they can mix colors to create your own custom colors.
Travel Tip: If you would like to plan a girlfriend getaway, The Tremont House offers a Girlfriend Shopping Spree Package with exclusive discounts to Tina’s on The Strand, Head to Footsies and Emboldened Boutique as well as Gracie’s, and Spice and Tea Exchange. Plus, you get to create your own custom designed wine glasses by you and your BFF at Clay Cup Studios.
Shop away… and enjoy your retail therapy.
