Flip Flops are a critical fashion accessory for your trip to Galveston. If you forgot to bring your flip flops or need a pair, no worries; here’s a quick list on where to buy.
If you are looking for cute and sassy:
Head to Footsies, 2211 Strand (Old Galveston Square), carries over 40 brands of sandals including Yellow Box, Corkys, Volatile, Taos, Vionic, Pierre Dumas, Jessica Simpson, Steve Madden, Madeline, OTBT, and others. According to owner Joyce McLean, they carry many traditional flip flop types in dozens of colors and designs for every age woman in sizes 5-11. She adds, “New styles arrive daily, and best part is that our prices are less than outlets or online sites!”
Tina’s on The Strand, 2326 Strand, carries Brighton flip flops in flat and wedge styles. Flip flops are adorned with a piece of Brighton jewelry and shoes include a Brighton bag. Prices range from $38 to $48. Stop in if you are Brighton fan. They also offer a variety of gifts, jewelry and clothes.
If you are looking for surfer favorites:
Ohana Surf & Skate, 2814 Avenue R ½, carries Rainbow Sandals, Reef Sandals, Sanuk, O’Neill and Volcomm for adults and children. By the way, they also offer surf camps.
Strictly Hardcore Surf Specialties, 3702 Avenue R, has Olukai, Roxy and Cobian styles for women and Olukai, Cobian and Quiksilver for men. They also make custom surfboards there in case you are looking.
Most of Galveston’s souvenir shops sell flip flops as well but if you are looking for a superior quality to last beyond this vacation, we recommend that you invest in a nice pair from one of the locally owned shops listed.
Happy flip flop shopping and we hope that you take time to get some sand between your toes during your visit.
