If you are planning to bring your fur baby with you during your next trip to Galveston here is a handy list of pet friendly patios in downtown Galveston.
One of our favorite spots is Stuttgarden Tavern, 2110 Strand. Here you can dine on German food and enjoy craft beer on their outdoor patio. One block over, you’ll find Tola Mo’ Better Market, 2208 Strand. While they don’t provide food; they do provide cold beverages and seating for people watching. If you are hungry for a good burger or tasty salad, check out Yagas Café, 2314 Strand. Look for their gate entrance to the patio and make sure to let the hostess know.
Just a couple of blocks away from Strand Street is Postoffice Street. Here you’ll find four pet friendly establishments. Look for MOD Coffee, 2126 Postoffice; Taquilo’s Tex-Mex Cantina, 2101 Postoffice; Sky Bar, 2107 Postoffice, and Little Daddy’s Gumbo Bar, 2107 Postoffice. The staff at these businesses are always great about offering water for your pet too while you dine.
Although there aren’t a lot of grassy areas in downtown Galveston you will find poop bags in a dispenser in an area directly across from The Tremont House. We encourage all pet owners to clean up after their pets.
We hope you and your furry friend enjoy your visit and the pet friendly patios throughout downtown Galveston.
Hotel Galvez & Spa and The Tremont House allow small pets (25 pounds or less). A $100 non-refundable pet fee is required. Please see the hotels’ pet policy for details.
