Galveston Island is alive with arts and entertainment. Featuring a Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Company, and the historic Grand 1894 Opera House, you can renew your spirit with uplifting cultural performances.

Offering year-round Broadway and musical shows, The Grand 1894 Opera House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of Galveston's crown jewels. One of the few remaining theatres of its era The Grand is the official "Opera House of Texas" and is a must-see for both art and entertainment lovers.

Galveston Art Galleries Feature Local and Internal Artists

Filled with eclectic art galleries and studios, the Galveston arts community is located in the Strand National Historic Landmark District and features works by local, national, and international artists.

Throughout the year, Galveston Arts Center invites you to experience Galveston's historic district through the ArtWalk program. Every six to eight week's galleries and art spaces stay open late to showcase unique artesian crafts. ArtWalk promotes visual art and artists, and invites visitors to experience first hand the art community on the island.
