In 2011, the Port of Galveston will welcomed three new cruise ships. In 2012, Galveston will be a port for two new ships. These ships include:- The Carnival Triumph, a 2758-passenger ship, which arrived Oct. 6, 2011, is offering year-round cruises to Mexico. Four-day cruises will depart to Cozumel while five-day voyages depart to Cozumel and Progreso.
- The Carnival Magic, a brand new 3,069-passenger ship, which arrived Nov. 14, 2011, is offering week-long Western Caribbean voyages to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, Mexico. Week-long Eastern Caribbean cruises will depart to Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas and Key West, Fla.
- Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas, a 3,114-passenger ship, which arrived Nov. 20, 2011, is offering seven-night cruises to the Western Caribbean. Ports of call include Roatan, Honduras; Belize City, Belize; Cozumel, Mexico; Costa Maya, Mexico; Georgetown, Grand Cayman and Falmouth, Jamaica.
- The Disney Magic, a 2,400-passenger ship, will begin sailing from the Port of Galveston Sept. 22, 2012. Disney will offer 12, seven-night cruises to the Western Caribbean. Ports of call will include Grand Cayman and Mexico's Costa Maya and Cozumel.
- The Crown Princess, a 3,080-passenger ship that will begin sailing from the Port of Galveston Dec. 22, 2012. Princess Cruises will offer 19 seven-day cruises to the Western Caribbean. Ports of Call include Costa Maya, Mexico; Roatan, Honduras; Belize City, Belize and Cozumel, Mexico.
