A Dickens Holiday

Strolling carolers will serenade throngs of seasonal celebrants with beloved holiday tunes while street jugglers, roaming minstrels, bagpipers, and a host of additional entertainers will show off their festive finery and keep the merriment going. You’ll also find daily parades, six stages of live, non-stop entertainment, and costumed vendors selling everything from holiday-themed food and drink, crafts, gifts, jewelry, and Christmas decorations.

This family-friendly event will also have plenty to offer the little ones, with such Victorian-themed, kid-friendly attractions as Tiny Tim’s Play Land. Special events will include a champagne reception at the stunning Bishop’s Palace on Thursday, December 5, the Dickens Victorian Bed Races, Holiday Handbell Concerts at St. Joseph’s Church, Morning Tea with the Captain’s Wife at Pier 22, and the 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA, Dickens After Dark, and St. Arnold’s Strand Walking Tour.

Wondering where to stay? We suggest downtown at The Tremont House in the historic Strand District. Or, for easy access to Pier 21 and gorgeous harbor views, check into the Harbor House Hotel & Marina. Want to be close to the beach? Hotel Galvez & Spa offers fabulous beachfront luxury, along with the best Sunday brunch in town!
