Everything You Need to Know About Galveston’s Fourth of July Festivities

First off, travel is back to life in Galveston, compared to last year at this time when all things Fourth of July were unsurprisingly canceled due to the pandemic. Following this year’s record-breaking Spring Break popularity, Galveston's Board of Trustees approved spending more than $20,000 on its Fourth of July fireworks display—meaning you can expect a fantastical show just like years past.

If you want to be in the heart of the action, head straight for Seawall Boulevard. Here you can witness the cherry on top of all 4th of July celebrations in Galveston Island—the parade! The event starts at 59th Street and finishes at 25th Street and features a procession of performers, floats, decorated military vehicles, and much more.

The parade is followed by a dazzling fireworks display lighting up the sky over the Gulf of Mexico. The show is sponsored by the Galveston Park Board of Trustees and takes place near Seawall Boulevard and 37th Street, accompanied by a live concert. Plus, if you’d like to pair dinner and a drink with the show, there are several bars and restaurants around the boulevard to be enjoyed.

For convenient accommodations with stunning views, choose  Harbor House Hotel & Marina, which is mere steps away from Pier 21 and the Strand District.
