Best Places to Watch Galveston’s Fireworks Displays

First, Galveston’s fireworks show takes place at Seawall Boulevard and 37th Street at 9:15 p.m. The fireworks are launched over the Gulf of Mexico and can usually be seen throughout most of the island, but this is the prime place for optimal viewing.

Additional sweet spots include the area close to and around the Pleasure Pier, as the fireworks can be seen from either side and from some distance. Also, anywhere on the seawall is usually a good bet, as long as you’re not too far away. Aside from the Seawall Boulevard and 37th Street location, one of the best places to be during Galveston’s many annual fireworks displays is The Rooftop Bar at The Tremont House. Here, you’ll not only have a terrific view of the fireworks, but one of the best views of the city of Galveston and the natural scenery beyond.

This year, Hotel Galvez is hosting the Galveston Community Band for a patriotic concert during the fireworks. The concert begins at 8:45 p.m. and the fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. The Band will perform on the hotel grounds for hotel guests and the public.

Additional accommodations include the Harbor House Hotel & Marina, which is mere steps away from Pier 21 and the Strand District, and the historic beachfront luxury of Hotel Galvez & Spa.
