Discover the Romance of Galveston

Then, come to Galveston, a lovely and charming city where the weather is fine, the folks are friendly, and the fun is always happening. For a little inspiration, see our “insider” tips below.

  • For the best tour of downtown and one terrific time, join the Fantastic Galveston Race. Inspired by “The Amazing Race,” this fabulously fun event is held every Saturday and Sunday at 11: 00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m., and has been described as “part scavenger hunt, part sight-seeing tour, and part adventure.”
  • Take in a show at The Grand 1894 Opera House. A magnificent setting for shows and live performances, the Grand will feature Neil Berg’s Broadway-bound show, “50 Years of Rock & Roll” on Saturday, February 16 at 8:00 p.m., and the Galveston Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 “Titan” on Sunday, February 17, at 4:00 p.m. Tip: They also offer a summer season.
  • Three additional ways to make your Valentine’s Day even more special: One, top off a perfect romantic evening while enjoying one of the finest views of Galveston at The Rooftop Bar. Located atop The Tremont House in the Strand District, the bar is open daily, weather permitting. Also, enjoy fine spa services, along with a lovely Sunday brunch, at the historic beachfront location of the Hotel Galvez & Spa. And, treat yourselves to an outstanding view of the harbor with a stay at Harbor House Hotel & Marina at Pier 21.
