Explore Historic Architectural Grandeur

Sponsored by the Galveston Historical Foundation, the Tour will highlight a myriad of the island’s architecture, featuring small and large houses built in a variety of styles, including late 19th and early 20th century homes. In addition to the homes on the 2019 tour, the Galveston Historical Foundation will carry forward its Rehabilitation in Progress showcase, featuring two houses that demonstrate how the Foundation continues to use creative stewardship and cutting-edge green technologies to preserve the island’s heritage.

Visitors are encouraged to reduce the chance of damage to floors by wearing soft-soled shoes and to bring along sunscreen, hats, and umbrellas. Photos, smoking, food and drinks, and pets are not allowed. For a luxurious downtown stay, check into The Tremont House in the historic Strand District. If you prefer harbor views, you’ll love the Harbor House Hotel & Marina at Pier 21. Prefer historic beachfront accommodations? Hotel Galvez & Spa will suit you perfectly.
