Five Things You’ll Love at Yaga’s Chili Quest & Beer Fest

This is the festival’s 10th annual event in Galveston’s historic Strand District and will begin with a kickoff party at Yaga’s on Friday, January 18, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The festival will continue all day on Saturday, January 19, from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. In addition to tempting your taste buds with some of the nation’s most awesome chili and beer, here are three more reasons to come out and play.

  • Check out the wildly entertaining Beerfooter 5K Fun Run/Walk at 9:00 a.m. Outrageously-costumed contestants are encouraged, so run if you’re so inclined, or just cheer on your favorite Beerfooters.
  • Saengerfest Park will be transformed into Margaritaville at 12:00 p.m. with the Jackpot Margarita Contest, and live music beginning at 1:00 p.m. The park will also be the site of the official awards ceremony at 4:30 p.m.
  • Also, you’ll find hand-crafted goods, jewelry, and more from a variety of vendors, a washer-pitching tournament at 11:00 a.m., and the perennially popular Strand Merchant Walkabout from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Make the most of your visit by staying at The Tremont House in downtown Galveston. For a stunning view of the harbor, you’ll want to check into Harbor House Hotel & Marina at Pier 21. If you prefer the best in historic beachfront accommodations, we recommend Hotel Galvez & Spa.
