Galveston Island Beach Revue Returns

We are coming up on that time of year again; get your tickets early for the 14th Annual Galveston Island Beach Revue, Saturday, May 21st, 2022!

Before the Great Depression, beauty pageant contestants would show off their best beach suits during the “Pageant of Pulchritude” beauty contest starting in 1920. By 1928, the popular “bathing girl revue” was tripling tourism on the island. These pageants eventually inspired the birth of The Miss Universe Pageant. The tradition was resurrected in 2009, calling in contestant participation to show off the best vintage beach attire. The fun will be waiting at Beach Central, 2102 Seawall Boulevard. Aside from the bathing suit contest, enjoy events like a car show and live entertainment, with tickets now on sale for all events. Embedded in Galveston culture for the last decade and a half, the Galveston Island Beach Review is the island’s “Kickoff To Summer.”
