Go Wild for BBQ
Beginning Friday, the Pier will play host to a myriad of cooks, chefs, outdoor enthusiasts, and sportsmen and women, as they try to outdo each other in a culinary fight to the incredibly delicious finish. The competition offers game and barbecue, but will also include fajitas, ribs, seafood, and chicken.
Along with the epic dishes and live entertainment, the event’s primary focus is on children and will include many activities just for them, including the Run Wild 5K, a petting zoo, free arts & crafts, moonwalks, and more. Since 1997, this annual festival has raised over a million dollars for the Children’s Fund. Want the best accommodations close to all the action? Check into the Harbor House Hotel & Marina at Pier 21 for a stunning view of the harbor. Hotel Galvez & Spa features a scenic beachfront location, along with one of the island’s best Sunday brunch offerings. Or, surround yourself with downtown charm in the historic Strand District at The Tremont House.
