Ideas for Craft Beer Lovers

First, stop in at Galveston Island Brewing. The only full-production craft brewery in the area, they feature a myriad of brews served up in a taproom with a copper bar and live entertainment. Snacks are available, along with games and root beer for the kids. Next, head over to the Strand for a visit to Brews Brothers Brew Pub. Along with the craft beer, you’ll also find fine wine and cigars, along with terrific pub food. Another excellent nearby establishment is Stuttgarden Tavern on the Strand. Noted as one of the “15 Best Places for Beer in Galveston,” they offer a notable beer selection, a full liquor selection, craft cocktails, a “build your own burger” menu, and tasty traditional German fare. Also downtown, you’ll find Devil and the Deep Brewery on 25th Street.

If you’re looking for a fabulous view to go with your brew, head over to Beerfoot Brewery at the Seawall. You’ll have a selection of almost 200 bottles, cans, and drafts, along with daily specials. For the finest in accommodations during your craft brew tour, we recommend a stay at The Tremont House in the historic Strand District, and one of the best views of downtown from their Rooftop Terrace Bar. Want a hotel near the beach? Check into Hotel Galvez & Spa, and don’t leave without checking out their renowned Sunday brunch. For breathtaking views of the harbor and only steps from Pier 21, make your reservations for Harbor House Hotel & Marina.
