Spoiling Mom in Galveston

It’s that time of year again when we praise our mothers for all they do, spoiling them with love and appreciation. This May, if you find yourself on the island during Mother’s Day, we’ve got your perfect itinerary.

Wake up in luxury at The Tremont House, treating mom to a delicious Garden Benedict at The Tremont Café. Walk off that breakfast fatigue and take a family stroll around The Strand. Be sure to treat mom to dessert offered by local favorites like LaKing's Confectionary, Hey Mikey’s Ice Cream, or Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Eventually, make your way to Pier 21, as a Dolphin BayWatch tour awaits! Tickets start at only $10. Adults can catch a special BYOB sunset cruise in the evening! If mom wants to take more of an on-land approach, you all can even celebrate the night before on May 7th, 8 pm at The Grand 1894 Opera House for an evening of Michael Cavanaugh, the lead in Broadway’s Movin’ Out, as he and his band perform the biggest Billy Joel and Elton John hits.

There are many ways to spend Mother’s Day here in Galveston, but the simplest way can sometimes even be packing a cooler for the day and heading to East Beach for seaside cocktails as you celebrate. No matter what the family votes on, Mom will surely hold this trip near and dear to her heart.
