Ten Terrific Places for Family Fun in Galveston

Looking for the ultimate in family-friendly fun? You’ll find it all right here in Galveston. We offer an abundance of fabulous attractions, ten of which are listed below.

Pier 21  

Located in the historic harbor area, Pier 21 is home to three museums, including the 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA and the Texas Seaport Museum. You can also ride alongside the dolphins on one of several harbor tours or zoom through the harbor on a high-speed boat ride.

Moody Gardens  

Penguins, sharks and more await you at the Aquarium Pyramid, along with Saki monkeys, giant Amazon river otters, and tropical birds at the Rainforest Pyramid. Take in a thrilling film experience at the 4D Special FX Theater, or test your courage and agility on the ropes course and the zip line.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston

This exhilarating collection of water rides includes four slides, raft rides, and a kid’s area, along with excellent picnic pavilions and a swim-up bar.

Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier

Family fun with a vintage vibe, this retro amusement park is the ideal destination for thrilling rides and midway games for all ages. Additional highlights include shops and an array of fantastic food.

Galveston Artist Boat

The Grand 1894 Opera House

Galveston Children’s Museum at Moody Mansion
