The Grand Summer Series
Being able to catch a show at The Grand 1894 Opera House is a must when in Galveston, and unless you plan around it, there aren’t many show dates! The list might be small, but the experience is for a lifetime; we have your summer calendar.
It’s not quite summer, but coming up on May 7th, join Broadway’s Movin’ Out lead, Michael Cavanaugh, and his band for a night of popular and culture-bending hits from Billy Joel and Elton John. Fast forward to July 9th, and Bill Engvall will be making his way to Galveston for two showings at 4:00 and 9:00 pm. Engvall is popular for his genius comedic delivery as a stand-up comic, and these shows are part of his “Here’s Your Sign- It’s Finally Time” Farewell Tour. Finish the month on July 30th with An Evening With Johnny Mathis, as he celebrates 66 years in the music industry. Wrapping up the summer shows at The Grand, August 6th will be the only showing of Bandella- A Band of Astronauts. This show-stopping group consists of former NASA Astronauts who have teamed up with a keyboardist and a vocalist; enjoy this folky mesh of bluegrass and jazz at 8 pm.
No matter what time of year brings you into town, you can always check for updates online to see what’s on The Grand calendar, year-round!
